Can you modify the function gravatar_preprocess_user_picture() to work simultaneously with the function realname_preprocess_user_picture() in Realname module?

+1 on this, its vitally important for me so holding off realname update but need that too!

Should this be a realname fix as its that module that broke the combined functionality?

The latest realname 6.x-1.x-dev should address this bug. Please give that a try.
