You don't. For starters, it's probably illegal and for another, you'd actually need the template files which you can't just download. Your best bet would be to e-mail them and ask very, very nicely but I highly doubt you'll get anything.

Speaking as the developer who led the build on said sub-theme, I can assure you that's the case. The maclife.com site and its sister site, maximumpc.com, represent hundreds of man-hours of paid commercial work. We're pleased that you like the look of the site enough to want to replicate it, but unfortunately we cannot release that work into the public domain.

You're welcome to use the site for inspiration if you like, but the portions of the theme which are specific to Mac|Life are not open source.
