I'm running into a problem with a current version Drupal installation where current users are unable to login. No result in the login block other than a change in the URL to http://xxxxx/node, and an "access denied' message when using the /user login.

If I create a new user, I thought there was no problem, but I now see the same problem happening. If I enter the wrong password I get the appropriate response. Fortunately i was logged in as an admin user when this happened, I know from trying that if I log out I won't be able to log back in.

Site was restored from DB and site backups. there were some permission problems which prevented /site files from being displayed and those are now fixed. Everything seems to be working OK, other than the login issue.

I understand from some previous (older version) postings that this might be an issue with the sessions table.

I completely reinstalled the site with fresh files and restored the database. Ran without difficulty for a while but now the problem has recurred. I'd really appreciate some help with this, if anyone has any ideas. I can do a lost password request, get the email, use the link and the site tells me I'm logged in as /user/1/edit, but the body of the site shows a message that I am not authorized to access this page.

I've tried deleting session table content and that's not having any effect.

I'm at a loss here, and this is somewhat mission-critical. I'm restoring the site once again. I could really use some help, folks.

I have the same problem. Tried sitename.com/user too. Get the page with "Access Denied" message. It was working fine, I did not even install any new modules and suddenly I lost access to all admin section so I logged out and tried logging in again and I got "Access denied". Please help. I am in the process of developing a new site and it is almost complete and now this issue.
