I installed OG Galleries before I installed the Image module. This seems to cause the problem that the List of Galleries to choose from istn't integrated.
Repeated it in the proper order and it works.
Also, the list isn't integrated with only the public gallery existent.

I'm not sure I understand the question, but a number of things have been fixed in the latest development snapshot, so see if that works. Reopen if not.
