Hi all,
I'm having an issue with one of my Drupal sites which was working until sometime ago - why or when I am not sure, but I have tested this on FF4, IE 9 (7,8 in compat mode) which illustrated our problem described below... however, an old FF 3.0 showed the correct behavior with the link targets.
Problem:
When we put outbound links on our website, we make sure they open in a new window so the user who clicks on the link doesn’t get taken away from tofinosecurity.com. In a normal situation, if you are signed in to the website and click on an outbound link, the new website will open up in a new window, leaving the tofinosecurity.com page open in the previous window.
The problem we are getting is that when a user is NOT signed in to http://www.tofinosecurity.com and clicks on an outbound link, the new website will open up in new window (which is normal), but the tofinosecurity.com page is also affected and navigates to the new website as well. The result is that the user now has two separate windows open of the new website.
One last thing to note is that this problem will not happen if I set the outbound link to a different tofinosecurity.com page (all other things still remain the same).
An example of this problem can be tested on this page: http://www.tofinosecurity.com/about-us/overview and scrolling to the bottom you will find an outbound link going to tourismtofino.com.
Anyone have any ideas? I think it might be something with Jscript, but I dont know where it could be, if that is what it is.
