Issue Summary

hello

requesting a change on package group, for D7 version.
got a few suggestions for package names.

Styles
File Styles 7.x-2.x-dev
Styles 7.x-2.x-dev
Styles UI 7.x-2.x-dev

all 3 deal modules deal with Image Styles in D7, except Styles/Styles UI also deals with any kinds of files, and File Styles adds formatters/settings to Fields/Content/CCK, requiring also Styles module.
-
ImageAPI
ImageAPI 7.x-1.x-dev
ImageAPI GD2 7.x-1.x-dev
ImageAPI ImageMagick 7.x-1.x-dev

this one would be weird to use.

- Image Styles, but this one is redundant with Styles around.
- ImageCache is deprecated.
- Image is also a good name, but why not Styles?

Not a silly idea. The more updates I did to D7, the more I found that the 'imagecache' name was redundant and wrong.
I sorta didn't want to think about the global renaming required at the time when just trying to get it stable .... but. I think you are right in principle.

Not sure if 'styles' is right for us. It has too much crossover with other types of 'style' on the web. I think.
"Image styles" sorta feel s too close to the core one.
"Image effects"?

thinking..

Comming from #1103744: ImageCache Profiles » package name

Ideas: Image handling, Image manipulation - should make sense for most users

I just moved to the package Media (before reading this issue) as that seems to be used quite often (and we do things under admin/config/media/...). I hope you can live with that. Let me know.

Renaming the module name is a bit trickier, but will have to be done eventually, I was thinking image_effects as we define additional effects not styles. Anyway, postponing module renaming for now.
