Using the Delete (Check this box to delete this location.) checkbox to remove locations from a cck location field doesn't do what it should.

It deletes the entry from the field's table but it doesn't delete the location itself.

I'm also having this problem.

In addition, I'm seeing data remain in location_instance (although it is deleted from field_data_field_location), so views that reference location_instance are still returning data that we have marked as deleted.

I've run into this issue again and can't resolve it for a specific project.

Worked around it for one project but the current one is different: https://www.drupal.org/project/location/issues/2910219
