Hi,

I have English and Portuguese (Portugal) enabled on my site. I've tried to override strings in Portuguese but without success. I'm able to override strings in English though.
I've always emptied cache and I also tried the dev version, but still didn't work.
What can be causing this issue?

You have to make sure to input the same source text, not the language's replacement. For example:

I propose to make the titles of the table at admin/config/regional/stringoverrides more explicit :

English original
instead of Original and
Translated replacement
instead of Replacement

An help text on how to quickly access the english original of a term could be added. See #1216358: Override translated strings.
