Description

Are there any plans to port this great module to Drupal 5? It would also be useful if it could automatically add the email account that can be set up with cPanel module.

Any thoughts on either of the above issues?

Seems that project isn't actively maintained. Very, very disappointing. :(

It is a great shame, as this is potentially a fantastic module. I wonder if the author could comment on whether he intends to actively maintain this module? If not then perhaps others could pick it up? Would be a shame to see it not become what it could be (or at least be ported to 5).

Oh well, I guess no comment means it is dead? What a shame.

Hello. Ok, so yes, this module has been sorley neglected. Unfortunately, I have had -10 time to do anything to it (yes, negative time). Perhaps if I get some time,or sponsorship I shall be able to do something with it soon.

Off the top of my head, I konw the logic and/or forms will have to be re-written, but I don't know if it's just a simple copy and paste, or more involved (this is because FAPI) works slightly different in 5.0. This is my favorite module that I've made and i wish i had more time for it, but alas...i don't. :(. I'll try and keep everyone posted though.

Hi Souvent22, and thanks for the response. Such a shame that there is not enough time or there are not others that have enough knowledge to develop this further, as it has such potential. Perhaps it would be worthwhile putting a notice on the main project page (or somewhere more suitable) to say you do not have enough time and offers of assistance, etc, would be welcome? Again, it would be nice to really see this module go somewhere.

I'm very interested to see how this develops.

My time is really limited right now. If there is anyone who would wish to take over or help co-develop this module, please contact me. There is a contract on the horizon in the next few weeks though that will pay for this module to be developed further and finished (for 5.0). I'll keep everyone informed as to if/how it materializes.

Hi Souvent,

Thanks for taking the time to update us.

Perhaps a bold notice could go on the main project page to encourage someone to get involved? IMO, Drupal is really missing a module that can integrate with cpanel (the cpanel module appears to have become stagnant) to automate email address provision and then provide a nice, internal email system - I know the former is not part of pontomail, but it never hurts to ask.... ;-)

If I get the time then I will see if I can figure out anything myself, but as this is my first Drupal site and my first efforts playing with php.... then again, you never know!
