Viewing Bartik in IE (except IE9 I believe), there are no rounded corners and gradients (like in Firefox, Safari, Chrome, etc). They say it "works as designed":

However, if I want Bartik to show up in IE like it does in other browsers, what should I do? I've created a subtheme and I can think of a conditional IE stylesheet (plus images), but there must be some guys here that have faced the same problem...
Is there any set of IE stylesheets (plus images) that I can download for this purpose?

Probably not, people are
Probably not, people are forgoing making old versions of IE exactly the same to make themes simpler.
IE is still popular though
Hmm, that's a pity, since many people still view the internet through IE, particularly in the Netherlands.
I'm a designer and want to use a Bartik subtheme for a site, but get frustrated when it doesn't show gradients and rounded corners in IE; it looks terribly ugly...
CSS 3 Pie
You could try using CSS3Pie: http://drupal.org/project/css3pie. It has some limitations but should work for CSS like this:
border-top-left-radius: 5px;, which is what Bartik is using for the Main Menu tab rounded corners.Looks promising
Hmm, didn't know about that CSS3 PIE thing, looks promising!
I'll keep an eye on that one, which unfortunately doesn't seem to work in Drupal 7 yet:

Thnx anyway! ;-)
Use it without the module
You could use CSS3Pie without the module. Just follow the instructions here: http://friendlydrupal.com/screencasts/rounded-corners-and-other-css-3-fe.... It's actually not too hard to implement.
Thnx!
Guess I'll give it a try next few days, thnx! ;-)
Can't get CSS3PIE to work
Hmm, I can't get CSS3PIE to work.
Guess there must be something wrong with the way I've created a Bartik subtheme...
After reviewing the supported
After reviewing the supported (and mostly non-supported) CSS3 features offered by CSS3 PIE (http://css3pie.com/documentation/supported-css3-features/) it looks like rounded corners and RGBA color values as currently specified for Bartik's main menu tabs will never appear correctly in IE6 through 8 using CSS3PIE. Perhaps CSS guru's could rewrite the affected code to work but what would be the point since it's generally agreed that web pages will never look exactly the same in every browser. The CSS3 properties used in Bartik 'degrade' quite nicely in browsers that don't support them. I imagine they were designed specifically to do so.
Bartik works as designed in IE, but I think it's crap...
Agree that Bartik works as designed in IE, as can be read here:
However, I think it's crap. Must have been done by a developer instead of a designer...
As a designer I think Bartik has a neat user interface, with nice gradients and rounded corners. But what's the deal if 60% of the people (at least here in The Netherlands - yes I know...) use Internet Explorer 6, 7 and 8? In my opinion, the developer of this core theme of the best open source cms should have created a nice IE fallback, or at least documented a way to achieve this.
Just my 2 cents...
You can add gradient support in the header for Bartik in IE
You can add gradient support in the header for Bartik in Internet Explorer 7, 8 and 9, instructions here: http://drupal.org/node/844728. Because this involves making alterations to core files, it would be best practice to create your own sub-theme of Bartik in which to apply the changes so that updates to core will not override your work.
IE up through version 8 still fails to display Bartik's rounded corners for the menu, nor does the rgba transparency function. Both rounded corners and transparency work in IE9. My decision is to live with the faults in older versions of IE and look forward as users continue to drop use of versions prior to IE9. W3Schools statistics show that only a little more than 10% of the population now uses IE 6, 7 or 8.
