Hi all!
Just thought i'd post a little note letting people know that my first ever Drupal module (i've only recently started using Drupal), will soon be ready for upload!
Using the Drupal FUDforum module as inspiration, IPBlink allows users to log in to your Drupal site using an Invision Power Board database as the back end. Email and Password changes are automatically synced between the two, as are a few other additional custom fields.
Custom blocks for forum statistics, latest forum posts and online users are already working, with top x posters, latest downloads and a number of other blocks to follow shortly.
You can see the system up and running on my test area at http://www.MoDaCo.com/drupal - this is integrating with my www.MoDaCo.com back end. The system will also be up and running on my blog (http://www.PaulOBrien.net) in the near future.
A couple of things I want to fix before I make the first development release (and I don't actually know how I release a module?):
- Pass new user signups back from Drupal to IPB
- Only show recent topics from 'public' areas (currently shows from everywhere)
- Reset to 'validating' of IPB account when e-mail is changed
Other planned features before a 1.0 release
- More granularity of number of recent posts shown etc.
That's all I can remember of the top of my head... but the bulk of the work is done, and it's looking great! (IMHO).
The only question that remains to be asked... does anyone actually want it other than me? :-D

PS One other thing... any additional requests?
Comments
Erk
Doh... over-bold... should have previewed first!
Can I not edit my posts? :-(

I "fixed" it. If I fixed it in the wrong spot just post a followup comment and I can fix again. I'm not sure about editing your own posts, I guess not.

I'm interested!
Yes, I'll be interested in this module! Invision is one of my more preferred forum softwares. I had to 'downgrade' to PHPBB when I migrated my site over to Drupal after thoroughly weighing the pros and cons but many of my users have complained that it is less user-friendly. If you need some beta testing for this module, I'm on!
Yes!
I'd be very interested in this. Considering moving a current site into Drupal and would love to be able to get the 4000 users we have under IPB set up seamlessly. Let me know when this will be ready and if I can help you test it in any way.
Thanks!
Awesome!
This is looking just great!
I've tested it a little and will certainly be using it.
One request - How likely it is I'm unsure - The new Profile System within IPB is the number 1 reason I dumped vBulletin for it. Is there anyway to integrate this with Drupal in some way?
The intent for my site is to have user driven content - So nearly all the articles are going to be submitted by the frontend user - I'd like their "author name" (which is present on the bottom of each of their submitted articles) linked directly to their IPB Profile (rather than Drupal's).
Expanding on this, having a module that shows a random profile (picture etc.) would also be fantastic.
I find one of the strongest points of IPB is now the Profile System, and I am aware of many people now utilising it purely for the myspace'esque profile system - Having this work seamlessly with Drupal would surelly enchance the who experience for Drupal > IPB Bridges.
Also, within IPB Profiles, there is now a sort of "blog system"...There are a series of tabs that allow users to access different aspects of the IPB Profile, one is for Blog, the other is for IPB Posts etc....Having a tab for content the user has submitted to Drupal would be great.
If any of the above can be acheived, it would be truly fantastic!
Thanks for your work so far on this, Its very much appreciated.

any news?
is this available for download anywhere?
Very interested!
This looks very nice, I have a client who wants to integrate his website with invision. He's upgrading to drupal 5.1; once that is done he wants to deploy invision.
Any idea when this is going to be released? I'd be happy to help out if you need it.
Hi Modaco,Yes, I would be
Hi Modaco,
Yes, I would be very interested in this module, as previously discussed here: Invision Power Board Integration.
In regards to "Pass new user signups back from Drupal to IPB" - just a suggestion, but rather then writing something to do this, why not force all signups to be processed by one or the other ?
Also, I'm curious to know how you are doing the auth in drupal - is it using the ipb auth external classes, or IPConverge (via xmlrpc) or some other way.
Any idea when it will be released? I would be very happy to assist with testing/debugging.

Guliza, we wish..
I emailed Paul a few days ago, but as yet, still no response..
He hasn't posted anything on his blog for a while, so its possible he's busy with real life things.. one can only guess/assume..
Perhaps the eager people should discuss how one might implement such a module..
