when you use the fieldgroup.module you can group a set of fields into that group.
when you go to the admin page for cck field permissions it would be very cool if you could simply select the group and give the group of fields access control
Unless I get lots of requests for this, I think this will be delayed a until a later release. Generally people seem to want the finer grain control per field control.
The problem with the 4.7 version is that if fields are in groups they are totally unrecognized by field permissions. Only if they are in "no group" can field permissions effectively be assigned. Is this also an issue with 5.0? If not I'll consider upgrading.
