After activating the Module, i only get this error
Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_OBJECT_OPERATOR in *****/modules/mapbuilder/mapbuilder.module on line 678
I have no idea why - this is the first non-core-module i integrated within my drupal installation

The mapbuilder module is not yet stable so errors can occur. It may help if you could add information on the environment you are using: os, php version. Did you follow the README.txt that comes with the module?
In addition to it, the module needs the php curl module. It has only been tested with php 5.2.0.
