Hi,

I am allready buzzy with learning Drupal for allmost a year now! and I keep learning new things every day.
The drupal community is a very open community in which I would like to contribute my knowledge and findings and hopefully we improve each others buzzy internetstuff.

I build a couple of hobby-sites using the fine drupal modules and now I am stuck with a new site on which I want to provide free information about all sorts of possibilities anybody had to get free information: http://www.gratis-informatie.nl.
I am building the site with drupal 4.7.4.

I would like to use the modules: category_module, block and panel together. But until know without results.
With the category_module I can get nice views of my content, but until know not an easy to use block like the taxonomy_block (with the taxanomy_module).
With panels I can use views and blocks. But with the category_module I am not able to make an easy block like with the taxonomy_block_module. Please help!

I don't want to start this site with the wrong taxonomies in place and building up all the categories and having to switch over on a later period in time.
So what should I do. Stick to the taxanomy module and taxanomy block?
Or does somebody has an solution to use the category_module and a possibilty to make blocks with specific terms easy to make and to maintain..?

Thanks in advance!

Greetings
Martijn

Title: Category module and block using .vs. taxonomy » I succeeded with using the Taxonomy Wrapper

Hi All,
How I exactly did it, I don't know anymore. But now my system acknowledges categories and containers, and the Taxonomy wrapper controls that there is hidden in the system a copy of my categories in taxonomy (terms and vocabularies :)
So all functionality regarding taxanomy is working AND all functionality regarding the category module!
I am very happy at last!
What I first did was returning the menu-item taxonomy back to it's origin, than used the taxonomy wrapper, and after that the category module takes control!
What I still do'nt understand is the working with category module-views and than putting this view in a block....

Greetings,
Martijn

Over 2 years old, 4.7.x not supported anymore, and this is no issue to discuss in terms of development and/or support. So closing.
