This may be obvious, but I cannot figure out how to promote a page view to the front page. I want to create a limited view of a node for the public, promoting it to the front along with other front page items. While allowing the complete node to be viewed within a closed OG group along with other og content. And I cannot wrap my mind around how to do this within admin/views.
thanks,
Katrina

If it is what I think it is you mean,
try the Publishing Options in a Content Node. There's an option called Promoted to Front Page there.
Views aren't nodes per se ...
thanks shakma, for the quick response ...
...but views do not have publishing options ... that is why I am asking this question.

Under settings->general....there is a place to put in the URL for the front page....This would make the view the only thing on the front page.
Thanks bunches!
What a good idea! And just like I thought, simple, straightforward and completely beyond my dull intellect this morning. Ah, caffeine ..
I guess the question becomes then how does one put more than a single view on the front page ... or is this turning into a feature request to add publishing options to views? Hmmm...
