Sections doesn't switch to chosen admin theme

I've got two sections set up, one for a splash page and the other the default administration section enabled and set to use Rubik. The splash section works just fine, however the admin section still always gives me the default theme. Admin's weight is -10 and splash is 0. Any idea why admin doesn't work? Very frustrating.
