I don't suppose there's any chance either that this will work for 4.7 or that you might consider a backport?

Right now, I'm juggling enough stuff that I haven't had time to consider a backport. I don't think there's any code that's extremely 5.0 specific, though -- if someone were to post a patch I'd certainly apply it and spin off a 4.7 branch. I just don't have the bandwidth do build it myself at the moment.

I tried installing it and have hit two problems

The menu option is trying to call http://example.com/admin/build/custom_pagers - I know admin/build is 5 specific, I tried taking /build out but that doesn't work.

and it's also throwing an error

This hasn't been touched in a year and Drupal 4.7 is no longer supported so I think it's safe to say it's not gonna happen. :)
