Plans to develop something of an assignment submission system?
As far as I can tell, the schedule currently can only link to pages within the class or to external links. I wonder it would be possible to also link to something like "Assignment" content type / feature where students can either submit via a text field or upload a document. Perhaps with something like a "Class Assignments Collected" area.
I don't think I'm, perhaps like you, so interested in pushing for a full-blown grading system, but an assignment submission feature would be useful for some classes.
Two questions:
1.) Any thoughts or plans to move in this direction?
2.) Also how difficult would it be to fit something like an assignment content type into your setup or is it limited to "book pages" and "links" with content outliner?

btopro commentedIn our roadmap for the project we're going to have an entire system dedicated towards assignment management. The thought being that ELMS - Content's schedule can be used to automatically build out a matching course space in the CLE (collaborative learning environment). We're keeping systems separate to avoid scale issues that currently exist with other systems. Also, course content can be a single resource while the CLE's spaces can be section specific to allow for per team work.
So, short answer there's no plans of adding that to this system though it should be easy enough to add to ELMS by adding a content type, setting permissions and OG settings correctly and then allowing for its addition in the outline designer (admin/content/book settings pages).

btopro commentedThis is starting to be included as of Alpha 5 but will be included in the Beta (either B1 or B2)

markwk commentedOk. If you are looking to advance this issue, checkout the two features I made on github for atriumed_assignments and atriumed_homework. They take two different approaches but could be easily combined to be a decent assignment setup.
