I'm going to mothball the resources system on the 2.x branch. I've discussed this with the other maintainer on IRC; filing this for the record and to post a patch.
The reasons are the following:
- I don't entirely grok it
- it seems mostly experimental, or at least needs more work
- my big changes to the connections system require even more work
I don't have time to devote to reworking it, and as it stands it's misleading to users to have releases containing heaps of broken code.
My plan is to make a 2.0 release with just the connections system, and then come back to looking at how to build resources on top of the new system.
