Need Torrent module? It exists for Drupal 5.0? If no can someone create it? I need it very much. I want to upload, browse and manage torrents and user statistics, ratio etc.

Any help much apreciated.

There is currently a proposal for the Google Summer of Code pertaining to a BitTorrent module. Check it out at http://drupal.org/node/121112. I for one am looking forward to either creating it or using the module once it is created.

I waited for long for someone to write it...

Now iam writing one. (highly based on phpMybittorrent).

Wait for a week and I should upload one if I get the CVS access.

This is what the module should do once it is completed.

  • It provides a tracker at http:///modules/bttracker/announce.php (Iam still thinking on how to make the announce.php also totally integrated into drupal)
  • Private tracker / Public tracker
  • torrent statistics (ratio for eachuser)

    People with ideas can pitch in.

    As far as ideas check out the proposal at http://drupal.org/node/121112. After reviewing the code for the current BitTorrent tracker there are some areas that could be improved upon. You might want to look at co-operating with one of the people working on it under the Google Summer of Code.

    The time line is here. Although it looks as though the actual coding does not start until May 28th, the Drupal mentors have stated that they expect to see some progress already made on proposals including coding. Also the original module can be found at http://drupal.org/node/31435.

    Mean while you can use torrent trader lite. Look for the v2.1

    It has very good features and tracker works well.

    it doesnt use mysql so you can integrate it to any site in 5 minutes.

    This is a temporary solution since you wont be able to integrate it with your user base (no mysql). However you can add the link to your members control panel so only members can access it.

    wrapping phpmybittorrent or torrent trader classic might be a better solution, till the module is released.

    There is a great tracker for vBulletin 3.6.x ( VBTT3 )
    vbDrupal totally integrates with vbulletin, so you should be able to create content based on what the tracker is doing.

    Hi everyone,
    I have posted here before, but I have not posted since getting accepted into SoC. I am actively working on a bittorrent module, and I hope to have some progress to show soon. The first item on the list is the torrent node type followed shortly by the tracker. Check http://groups.drupal.org/soc-2007 for my weekly updates, feel free to comment with any thoughts :).
