Haven't been able to find the root cause but the menu is supposed to show children links when the parent item is in the active trail. This works fine for the english/language neutral page. But if I change languages, the menus are always collapsed.

The menu item has the correct 'active' class but even though it is active and should be expanded it is collapsed.

I have the same exact problem. English works fine, when I use the secondary or third langauge, the menus with children dont show as expanded.

I have the same problem with a 7.2 dev version using i18n. Everything works works fine for the first language, but the moment a second language is active the trouble begins. The interesting thing is that not all menu items with children stop working. Some continue to work others don't. I checked settings, rebuild the menu and manually set menu items again, but did not found a pattern when it works and when not.

Update: Looks like the problem is i18n menu_translation related. The moment this module is off all the menu children are visible again.

Update2: If you create "fixed language" menu instead of one with translatable menu items all in one, the problem is gone.

Ya but if you did fixed language then you'd have to create the menu block for every language.

Project: Menu Block » Menu translation (Node)
Version: 6.x-2.4 » 6.x-1.0-beta2

Moving this to menu translation queue.
