Opened a CVS account and I managed to create a directory and committed 33 files. I also managed to create a project and tried to make a release but I think I am doing something wrong because it's not showing. I tried to make a release ca.16 hours ago and attempted again 15 minutes ago. I am new to CVS so I do not really understand tags, branches, etc. so I probably made some mistakes there.

I am having a hard time understanding the CVS howto pages on the handbook because the instructions show commands. My local set-up is Eclipse for Windows meaning I just have form fields to fill and buttons to click and cannot type in the commands on the handbook.

Anyone so kind who is willing to explain this to me?

appears to show a tag 34 hours ago (DRUPAL-4-7--1-0). When you go to your project page and click "Add new release" the form should have a select dropdown to select which tag to release. You should see DRUPAL-4-7--1-0 in there. Is it not there?

Yes, I tried to add a release more or less 8 hours ago but it isn't showing.

I also have translation files for 5.x 95% done that's why it took me 4 hours before i replied to this post. Hmmm...I dont know how to upload them without overwriting the 4.7.x. I also don't know how to update the files for 4.7.x i uploaded as I found some mistakes. Hmmm....i am pathetic, ain't i? hehe hmm... I really want to learn how to make versions and releases :-)

Packing is currently once every 24 hours for various reasons. If you do not see your release then please file an infrastructure issue.

ERROR: no translation does not contain a no.po file for version 4.7.x-1.0, not packaging

It appears your "package" at that release is missing a file (or some error) so the package script won't build it. Try checking you got all the translation files correct and in place. You'll probably need to delete that tag as the packager is trying to build it every 5 minutes and failing.

the packaging script is complaining about the following error:

msgcat *.po | msgattrib --no-fuzzy -o no.po
msgcat: internationalized messages should not contain the `\r' escape sequence

i don't know much about translations, so you'll have to find someone who knows more about this stuff than i do to help you figure out what's going wrong here.

meanwhile, i just deleted the 2 release nodes, since they were continuing to fail to be packaged. please remove the DRUPAL-4-7--1-0 tag and re-add it once you've corrected the above errors. then, you can create new release nodes and hopefully they'll appear.

p.s. in the future, if you have problems with releases for any of your contributions, it'd be much better to submit an issue to the http://drupal.org/project/issues/infrastructure queue, and set the component to 'Packaging'. that will ensure that the right people see your request, we can track progress of the issue, etc, etc. thanks.
