I'm gradually moving towards OGG as my favorite format, but Flash does not support OGG.
On my OGG nodes, there is a "Click to play" field, which I like very much, because the mPlayer plugin for FF does such a good job. You can jump around in the timeline etc. It would be nice to be able to turn on and off the Flash player from the admin interface, or simply select "none", for the MP3 content.
Alternatively one could add an OGG section, using an embedded java player, such as Cortado. Or have an option to use the javaplayer for both MP3 and OGG, maybe even support ASF/WMA as well. Most people already have Java installed for their homebanking etc.
Thank you for your time, and a very nice module.

drewish commentedboth excellent ideas but they really need to be different issues. i'll let this one focus on adding an option for 'no player'.
if you'd like, open up a new issue for creating a plugin for the Cortado player. it looks like it's GPL so we could include it in the module.

drewish commentedi guess the easiest way to do this would be to add a player plug-in that hides the player...
