I was just wondering if anyone knows of a way to submit a detailed sitemap or something to yahoo, all the web and altavista cause our site is getting over 500 pages indexed in google but in yahoo and the other two it is showing 7 pages. Very weird. I wonder if it's just a glitch or if we have to submit more info on our site. MSN gives us 261 pages. Anyone got any ideas? Thanks again :)

Use the Drupal XML site map tool to ensure that Google, Yahoo!, and other engines are able to find an up-to-date list of all your pages. Supplement this by having lots of page-to-page linking and asking other sites to link deep within your site (not to just the homepage).

That said, don't lose sleep if Google's tally never matches MSN's or Yahoo's. They are known to not report all the pages and in-bound links that they know of -- part of keeping their algorithm secret. You'll rarely, if ever, see a 100% overlap in their listing of pages within your site.

Hi,

I am having a reverse problem! My pages are well indexed in google, not bad in yahoo but absolutely abysmal in MSN. Any ideas anybody? Using Drupal 5 and have submitted the site to all search engines.

Warm regards
