It is fine with a radio-button language selection, but it would be way faster and easyer to find the correct language if the list could be sorted alphabetically.

It should'nt be that hard to implement.

Yes, in fact there is already a patch (for Drupal core which generates this list) at #966818: Sort list of languages properly on install (and remove useless space), please help test and get into Drupal so we can get it to all versions (including 6).
