6.x-4.0 already? Really?

Module maintainers usually create a new branch when the dramatically change the interface or when update scripts cannot be created. So site maintainers know that they have to be very careful when upgrading.

For instance, see the changes between Views2 and Views3.

So please create a new minor version for every update, instead of a new branch ;)

Don't want to get into a flame war about this. Suffice it to say that we're certainly not creating a new branch for every release and it had been a year since our last branch. It's a fair point though and we'll take it into consideration.
