Some more context would be really helpful.

You should know that it's required to reproduce a bug to fix a bug.
Therefore please read the views submission guidelines, linked on the issue create page of views.

Addition you should upgrade to 6.x-2.12, because many things got fixed there in the meantime

This issue doesn't allow me to use multiscreen wizards in the Views UI..

Got it

Now you can reproduce such Ajax error, assuming you have these three modules

  • Views
  • Panels
  • Quick Tabs

Scenario:

  1. Create a View (enable Ajax), as well, create some exposed filters
  2. Create a couple of Quicktabs, Then let each tab point to a view.
  3. Create a Panel Page and embed the Quicktabs into any panel region
  4. Now.........
  5. Try to Edit and Save the View, you shall (probably) face the Dump Out... In effect, the view is saved successfully, but the "&destination=......" part of the url is somehow not appropriate

I hope this is a started to resolve this long outstanding issue.

I have made this a critical issue, as the end-user who are doing node updates do face this dump sometimes, and they think the site is dead.

This dump turns out to be a serialized JSON object.

I have so many modules installed by now that it has become impossible to guess the interaction, let alone reproduce the bug. Then again, I now get this reaction from views after just about every transaction with the backend. Example:
Relationships > [type a search] > enter > FAIL (the above JSON dump)
Fields > select any field > save > FAIL (though it does remember my action)

I'm scared of reinstalling views module as I'm not certain this will leave my current works intact.

But the reason I'm posting here is because of this little shard of possibly helpful info:

Chrome console says: Resource interpreted as Document but transferred with MIME type application/json: "http://192.168.56.102/casalastortugas.com/admin/structure/views/ajax/add...".

This is to all who are following this issue:

I noticed that along with a MIME warning (previous post), there was also another -seemingly unrelated- jQuery error appearing regularly in my console ("Uncaught TypeError: Object function (a,b){return new p.fn.init(a,b,c)} has no method 'curCSS' "). I googled that and found that it appears in conjunction with the v1.8(.24) of jQuery. I'm using the "jQuery update" module and I did recently set it to 1.8 so I decided to roll that back to v1.7. The above error was consequently dealt with.

But ey, whattayaknow! So was the whitescreen issue!

I have Views 6.x-2.16, Panels, and QuickTabs installed. I am running jQuery UI 1.7.3 and am experiencing this issue. I noticed that if I open a second browser and look at the view that I just saved, the changes have been made but the view is locked. If I break the lock then all is well. I know that my allowed memory is exhausted. http://www.unix.com/web-programming/147642-solved-php-fatal-error-allowe... suggests that the problem may be with views_plugin_display_page.inc, within the execute_hook_menu($callbacks) function at foreach($bits as $pos => $bit).

Thanks EanBool! I followed your suggestion and rolled back jQuery version from 1.8 to 1.7 in the jQuery Update module. Bam...no more whitescreen dump and Views save just fine again. Thanks for taking the time to write what worked for you. You saved me oodles of aggravation.

JQuery rollback to 1.7 resolved the issue for me as well.

Same for me: setting jQuery Update to use 1.7 instead of 1.8 did the trick.
