Does not work for identical aliasses [#1125040]

Tthe pathauto_persist module only solves it for differently spelled aliasses.

So when I first make /en/myalias, and then /fr/myalias, the checkbox for automatic alias will be unchecked on the english translation, but the alias itself is gone.

This should be solved before I consider this module seriously.
Also, I'm not a fan of modules to solve bugs of other modules, the bugfixes should be commited to the module that causes the trouble.

How are you 'making' these aliases?

I also appreciate your tone. I made this a separate project as it requires more work getting it integrated into Pathauto, whereas a lot of people wanted a solution now and this was possible. Based on all its users, most people find it successful.

Before I installed the module, I first made a new node with alias, translated the node with the same alias. So then I had the problems this module should fix.
I installed your module, tried to save the node again with the same aliasses.

Of course it's useful, and I would be very thankful. And it's probably safer then to use a dev version of pathauto.
I just don't think it's really helping the people behind pathauto.
