This is extraordinarily popular with big companies and as far as I can tell Drupal with Userpoints is the closest out-of-the-box solution at the moment but still it doesn't quite seem to work:
Example:
MySite.com sells training to subscribers in the form of media packs and videos each with a userpoints value. Users are given userpoints each time they pay their monthly subscription which will allow them to purchase training modules with them. If a user wants to purchase more training modules within that month they can buy a package of additional points.
Now it is imperative that:
A) subscriptions and point-packages are only purchased by credit/debit card otherwise a user could easily abuse the system.
B) All other items are only shown with a Userpoint value in the cart to avoid confusion.
I am not a PHP coder but it seems to me that an admin just needs to be able to choose a payment method OR Userpoints for each category of item but every time I see a similar question asked in the forums it seems to be left open-ended.
Does anyone have a solution to this?
