When I go to the settings page and I submit it it tells me "Galleries have been created for all groups." and if I go to "Create Image" after that the list of galleries is emtpy (see screenshot). When I go to the Category settings screen the Type states 0,1,2,3,4,5 (see screenshot). After setting this to Image everything works again.

This should have been fixed with January 15 commits. It is no longer happening for me. Can you confirm whether or not you still see it with the latest snapshot (which won't get updated until tomorrow).

I can no longer try this because I can't even get og_galleries to work anymore. I get stuck as described in http://drupal.org/node/116134

This problem is not fixed. I recently installed og_galleries latest version. Somehow, the Type for some Group nodes gets set to 0 instead of Image.
