I plopped the weather module in the modules folder.
I was able to enable it, and even to go to administer > Site Config > Weather and set that up.
I went to blocks to add the weather block, and save the settings for it.
Here's where I get this:
Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 60 seconds exceeded in E:\server\xampp\htdocs\drupal\includes\common.inc on line 540
I have tried it both on a brand new, with no other modules install of 5.0 AND on a site I was in the middle of restoring.
I am certain it has to do with the weather module as the clean install never did that until I dropped the module into the modules folder.
Also, when I remove the module from the folder and refreshing the error goes away and the page loads. If I leave it there and refresh the error stays.

tangibre commentedI have the same problem.
Enable - ok
Settings - ok
Modules enable/configure - the site hangs
If I diable the module in the system-table in the database the site works normally.

toddy commentedHi,
I've changed the FTP site, this should be fixed in 5.x-1.1.
