It would be great if Default Content nodes were available when adding panes to a panel, similar to how the Boxes module works. http://drupal.org/project/boxes

It would enable creating an install profile with content already inserted into panels.

Well I need default content support as well and start creating my on little defaultcontent context plugin. It should be finished by the end of the week and allows you to choose a node by it's machine name and then loads it as a context, so that you can use it as you normal. Do you think that would enough for the beginning?
