If the option "autoplay = 0" is set then theme_video_flv() generates a playlist. But if there is no thumbnail for the videofile this playlist does not work.
The CCK field does not mark the thumbnail field as mandatory in this case.

(which got me searching around 3h to find out why my videos are not played if autoplay is off)
