I set up a new e-mail template on my Addthis profile page but even though I had my AddThis username entered on the module config page, this mail template wasn't being used.

Just on a hunch, I put my full profile ID (which looks something like this: ra-4522g2456k34) into the text box instead of my username...and it worked! I switched it back and forth a couple of times to test and it was only using my custom e-mail template when I had that profile ID entered.

Any reason why this should be? Also, the few clicks I've tested myself haven't shown up on my Addthis analytics and I'm wondering if it's the same reason.

Duplicate of #1066660: Email service does not show in custom compact menu services. Basically, a username has to be provided in order for the email function to work. The developers of the AddThis service feel that this is intentional and not a bug.

sorry, I don't think you understand my exact issue. I had the email service working fine (probably because I always had my addthis username entered in the module config page)

my particular problem is that I couldn't get addthis e-mail templates (where you can alter the subject line and the text that gets sent to users) to be used...only when I put my pubid into the module "username" text field on the config page did it get utilised. When I switched it back to my username, it wasn't being used. Perhaps this is a bug on the AddThis end of things.

When I look at the page source on my nodes, I see "username" and the URL contains the parameter "pub" (not "pubid") so I can't see why having my username should be a problem.

Switched the "username" configuration to "pubid" to keep in line with the current AddThis API - this should clear up any confusion going forward. New release should be available shortly.
