I am trying to apply a patch to the rpx module on my linux server because of some errors I'm having using puddy as the interface.

I am trying to use the following command from the root directory as super user;

patch -p1 < path/menu_token-1067522-2.patch

For the life of me, I cannot apply this patch this way.

Would somebody please tell me what I am doing wrong?

Take a look at http://drupal.org/patch/apply - I think the path part of path/menu_token-1067522-2.patch is meant to be the path to the file being patched.

thanks for taking the time to look and pointing that out for me

ok, that didn't work either

"bash: patch: command not found"

Ah - you either don't have patch installed, or don't have a path to it.

If you're on a Debian box, you want http://packages.debian.org/sid/patch

Ubuntu - http://packages.ubuntu.com/maverick/patch

Hope this helps...

I am trying to do this on a godaddy Red Hat Fedora linux VDS.

Is there no other way to apply this patch?

patch should be in /usr/bin/patch

If it isn't, try 'yum install patch'

Thank you so much for your time, I know it is precious.

yum did the trick but I still have the error that the patch was supposed to fix - :(
