I've now deleted and recreated several times a block with the search box script provided us by Freefind. At first, the text box and find buttons appeared, just not in the expected way (several line breaks inserted). I got rid of the line breaks and everything was cool when the 'text' and 'find' fields just disappeared from view. All that shows up in the block ever since is "Powered by freefind" (with the html link to FF).

Seemingly related, I have another block with two lines of text each with an embedded html link in one word. There is a line break between the two lines which appeared fine just as pasted from our old html site. I edited some of the text, just some of it, and the line break disappeared. Now the block appears as all one paragraph.

Same results for both probs whether I have 'filtered' or 'full' html enabled.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Any ideas anyone?

I've tried adding and to allowable html tags but no there's still nothing but a bunch of blank space where the text box and find button should appear ..

Why in the world won't this display?

This is probably the most maddening aspect of what has been an EXTREMELY frustrating beginner drupal experience.

the tags not showing above are FORM and INPUT inside these: <>

I've also added METHOD, VALUE, target, NAME, HIDDEN, SUBMIT

to allowed html tags. No difference.

I'm desperate here. Don't know where else to turn for help.

Is what I'm trying to do perhaps just not possible? But wait .. it worked at first :?

Removing the items that follow the textbox and FIND button makes the block disappear altogether.

Please. I'm really freaking desperate here.

Even if you someone just tell me for sure that it's not possible to render a form in a block (or any html form period) in Drupal, I'd at least know it's not possible.
