I think it is a great example of how Drupal sites don't need to look like Drupal at all. This website is for a group of lawyers in the city of Haarlem in The Netherlands. They are specialized in damages and liabilities.
The homepage is built with a custom page--front.tpl.php and a central block with custom HTML/jQuery in it. So the homepage basically runs through the Drupal blocks system, nothing fancy. Panels was not needed (would have been overkill for just 1 page).
This site uses only about 10 additional (non-core) Drupal modules, including Views.
