Facebook-style Statuses (Microblog), also known as facebook_status or FBSS, is a module which provides each user with a microblog where they can write what they're doing, how they feel, or anything they want. With permission, users can also post messages on other users' profiles, groups, and nearly anywhere else. This helps build a community and make your users feel more connected to your website.

There are currently two branches of Facebook-style Statuses:

Choosing a branch

  • 2.x: This version is very stable and heavily tested. Choose this version if you want assured stability.
  • 3.x: This version supports attaching status streams (analogous to Facebook's "walls") to nodes (including groups) and other entities. It is also more scalable. Choose this version if you are in the early stages of a project, are interested in experimenting, need FBSS to work with groups, or are working on a high-traffic-volume site.

The documentation for both branches is below.
