i installed organic groups module. the installation was fine. but when i enter a name i the title and click the submit button, nothing happens, that is, no group is created.

Have you setup a content type to act as a group page?

Have you completed all config options under:

Admin>>Organic Groups>>Organic Groups Config

i was able to subscribe to the group. but how to post to a group? when i click the group, it says 'No posts in this group'.

the problem is that Comment settings of the group can not be set to read/write. could this be a bug?

You'll want to remove the option to comment on any node type you use as a group.

is this a problem in 5.0? any expert here? looks like drupal is designed for those whose iq's are over 150.

Groups confused me a bit at first.

I know you have probably already done this, but I'll point out that I walked through the OG read me file several times, following the setup instructions and the notes sections.

You may want to check through each step again in the readme file. The comment on this page helped me too: http://drupal.org/handbook/modules/og

A few things to check, make sure you created and or selected a node type to be your groups home page. Then, after you create the group, join that group by subscribing to it.

Enable the groups blocks within your admin blocks section.

Once subscribed:

a. with your groups blocks enabled,
b. as master admin,
c. while browsing the group page,
d. you should see the Create Content link for that group.

Any other user, must have a role with permission to create content, before they can create content within their subscribed group.

Supposing a site with much non-group content; Once a user is subscribed to a group, would this new group member still see all the non-group content, or are they group-bound?

Posts, I take it, can go either way (private/public/specific audience, even) so I'm assuming group members would still see the site as any other authenticated user?

Some verbose and exacting (read "extroverted anal retentive") type might want to re-write some of the handbook pages with lots of case studies to make it more clear just exactly how these things work in typical situations.

I've managed to set up groups, but for some reason, users can only post stories in groups they own. How can I change it so that people can post in any of their subscribed groups (but not one's they're not subscribed to?)
