I've installed the new version required by html module but I get an error message in the status from Drupal telling me to update to a newer version.

Both modules, system mail and html seems to work fine but I'm not 100% sure if the error must be considered or not, in any case....

I attach a screen capture.

Yup. I incorrectly tagged a 6.x-1.x release as 6.x-2.3.

Fixed by uploading the correct code as 6.x-2.4.

Thanks for the report. Beware that the new version adds a dependency on the Autoload module.
