Hi there!

I'm strugling with newsletters :/
Feel quite good and have one year in Drupal settings in lots of modules like Views, Panels, CCK and dozens of other modules but really know little about e-mails and how this works...

Finally found a module I need - Sunmailer.
But I don't get all those options about mailserver, host, sendmail or smtp... - how to set it and where to take all these needed data from???

Curently I got my drupal installation on my local computer. I know that Drupal can send e-mails without any settings of mail server, host or whatever... just like the e-mail after installation.

But Sunmailer requests to type HOST. I tried to use "localhost" but not working - no test message found, also user subscription not working - no e-mail on mailbox found...

Please can someone help and explain some basics about e-mail functionality? - why Drupal does not need host or severs settings to send e-mail but some modules does? And how to get this to work both on local machine and internet server? Shall I create some special funcionality on local machine (I got MAC OS X) or shall I sign in for some POP3 mailbox to send e-mail from Sunmailer or other modules that requires host/server/smtp or whatever ?

I have been having these same issues, so if someone could help explain things that would be great.

Finally for my site promocyjni I used phpmailer.

However it's third party and I had some issues like different font coding :/

I also tried out Messaging and Notofication within Organic Groups. But this is so much confusing - those multilevel settings, that finally I got some newsletter, but couldn't track where I can set its properties - there is so many places for settings :/
