HTMLAREA may have crashed or at least made site invisible

reeljustice - January 29, 2007 - 05:53

I've been reading some various "How-Tos" on site creation and one of the things I saw most often was that I needed to install more modules.

Chief among them was HTMLAREA.

I uploaded a number of modules I was interested in, including many of those in CCK and Location.

I activated most of the CCK modules and everything was OK.

I activated a couple of the Location modules simultaneously (confidence was high then ---- BAD move) along with HTMLAREA and CONTENT TEMPLATES and my screen went completely white upon Submission.

I don't know what the heck happened but I couldn't get any text back with screen refreshes.

I wound up cleaning the database and setting up 2 sites and 2 database for Drupal testing.

Anyone have any idea IF it was the js menus in HTMLAREA which may have made the screen white? In my test environment, I have re-enabled most of the CCK modules and everything is fine.

I HAVE NOT enabled the Location or the HTMLAREA nor the CONTENT TEMPLATE modules.

BTW, the "live" version is at http://www.coastaloutdoors.com/info and the TEST version is at http://www.coastaloutdoors.com/infotest

You will notice that the 2 are using different themes so HOPEFULLY I won't get them mixed up.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Mapbuilder was the culprit I think

reeljustice - January 29, 2007 - 07:07

I was playing some more with the test site. After trying a number of things successfully, I tried ENABLING Mapbuilder module.

I got the dreaded "white page of Drupal death" I've read about and experienced.

I went into my database with phpMyAdmin dru_system table and set the Mapbuilder Status back to 0, refreshed my page and everything was fine.

I'll try HTMLAREA again later. For now, I've got to crash for work tomorrow.

Sig: Don't miss the forest for the trees.
