I am making a DVD review site for a TV series. Recurring characters will be tagged in each post, and rather than just have text links for their names, I would like to have a row of icons. The alt text for the icon should ideally be the name of the character (which is to say, the taxonomy term) and when clicked, the icon should act as a link to the taxonomy page for that term.
This is my first Drupal 7 site, and I can't figure out how to do this cleanly. I've been up and down Drupal.org with all the search terms I could think of, and I'm not having much success. Time to throw myself on the mercy of the forum. Anyone have any ideas for this?
Thanks,
Steve

Same question
I too and trying to make this happen. I want to build a simple grid view with Node Title, Taxonomy terms from a vocabulary called "media Type", and a Thumbnail. I want to replace the "media type" terms with little icons so that the user can easily know if the post contains video and/or audio. I've found this post about a drupal 5 solution- http://drupal.org/node/149738
I will see if I can adapt it in the next few days for drupal 7. Any other solutions?

potential solution?
I can't say that I've tested this, but on drupal 6 when I click Administer>>Content management>>Taxonomy>>list items>>edit>>term image it looks like I have a similar option.
