Is someone already busy upgrading this module to Drupal 5.0? If not, I will upgrade it myself within the next two weeks, but I just want to make sure I'm not doing double work.

texas-bronius commentedPlease do! I came here surprised to see that it had not already been done and have been struggling with the shortcomings of node-attachments.
Do let me know what I can do to help.
texas-bronius commentedbtw, did you see this 5.0 update request thread? These two requests appear to be the same and should probably be merged, b/c they will both show up only on diff't feature request queries.
dopry commentedThe HEAD of filefield is currenlty being developed for 5.0. I haven't branched it yet. However it does sort of work, but is not production ready.
gregglesI think a branch would be nice even if it's not ready. You can name it whatever you want (like filefield-5.x-1.alpha.tar.gz) to indicate the status.

JohnG-1 commenteda branch 5.1-1.x-dev might draw attention of eager helpers :P

wmostrey commentedDopry, I'm running the HEAD version in production for two weeks now and haven't run into any bugs whatsoever. From what I have experienced, it's safe to put up a 5.x dev branch.
gregglesI agree with wmostrey - been using it for a couple days now without problem.
I think we need a dev branch at least so that people can easily find that the code in HEAD is working for 5.
azote commentedI agree with all of you too....
I've been also testing the patch proposed http://drupal.org/node/123532 to separate reusable code and it's been working ok on a few websites....
phl3tch commentedBeen using it for about two weeks with no problems.
Can anyone suggest a way to change the filename after it's been uploaded, or in the process of uploading? I've got a client that wants to be able to upload images, but wants a field beneath the upload field for a new name.

gregglesCrackWilding - you are describing a feature request which I suggest you submit as a separate issue. It's unlikely to get a response in this thread since it is off-topic.
dopry - any reason not to do a branch now? if the only thing holding you back is some round tuits I'd be happy to give myself CVS, branch, and make a "dev" release node.

phl3tch commentedGood point. Thanks.
