Is someone already busy upgrading this module to Drupal 5.0? If not, I will upgrade it myself within the next two weeks, but I just want to make sure I'm not doing double work.

Please do! I came here surprised to see that it had not already been done and have been struggling with the shortcomings of node-attachments.
Do let me know what I can do to help.

btw, did you see this 5.0 update request thread? These two requests appear to be the same and should probably be merged, b/c they will both show up only on diff't feature request queries.

Version: 4.7.x-1.x-dev » 6.x-3.x-dev

The HEAD of filefield is currenlty being developed for 5.0. I haven't branched it yet. However it does sort of work, but is not production ready.

I think a branch would be nice even if it's not ready. You can name it whatever you want (like filefield-5.x-1.alpha.tar.gz) to indicate the status.

a branch 5.1-1.x-dev might draw attention of eager helpers :P

Dopry, I'm running the HEAD version in production for two weeks now and haven't run into any bugs whatsoever. From what I have experienced, it's safe to put up a 5.x dev branch.

I agree with wmostrey - been using it for a couple days now without problem.

I think we need a dev branch at least so that people can easily find that the code in HEAD is working for 5.

I agree with all of you too....
I've been also testing the patch proposed http://drupal.org/node/123532 to separate reusable code and it's been working ok on a few websites....

Been using it for about two weeks with no problems.

Can anyone suggest a way to change the filename after it's been uploaded, or in the process of uploading? I've got a client that wants to be able to upload images, but wants a field beneath the upload field for a new name.

CrackWilding - you are describing a feature request which I suggest you submit as a separate issue. It's unlikely to get a response in this thread since it is off-topic.

dopry - any reason not to do a branch now? if the only thing holding you back is some round tuits I'd be happy to give myself CVS, branch, and make a "dev" release node.

Good point. Thanks.
