Hi, this is NSK.

I started a Modern Greek (el / hellenic) translation of Drupal. I hope to finish it within the week.

If you know Modern Greek I would like you to review my translation and/or collaborate. if you are available feel free to send me mail. my email is [==NOSPAM==] nsk [--AT--] wikinerds [__POINT__] org [_-NOSPAM-_]

When I will finish the translation I will submit the pot files.

oh I forgot to ask my 2 questions :)

1) what copyright terms do u follow for translations? is it just GPL or do u have any policy for copyright assignment?

2) can I have my real name included somewhere in the drupal translation credits? :)

thanks, NSK - http://nsk.wikinerds.org

1) Everything in contrib cvs will need to be GPLed, so do the translations.

2) You can create the project node and put your name in there. There isn't a credits section in the Drupal distribution.

If you have troubles with a particular contrib project, please consider to file a support request. Thanks.

Maybe we should add an AUTHORS.txt or CONTRIBUTORS.txt or something. Being given credit leads to more and happier contributors, IMHO. Thoughts?

I think it would be a good idea to have a Credits section in your website or an AUTHORS textfile. It is more professional and makes contributors more happy. To say the truth, I would be proud to have my name associated with Drupal :)

It is also a good idea for the users to know who wrote what and be able to communicate directly and easily with the person who wrote a specific piece of the software

Professional opensource projects also ask for copyright assignment (not that this is always a good idea, but sometimes it is useful).

I will create a project for the Greek translation and put my contact info there. The files will be released under the GPL. I think I can finish the translation in the next week. Is there anybody who knows modern Greek and could proofread it?

I opened a project at http://drupal.org/node/11417 - do I need to do anything in order for it to be added in the translations/projects index? thanks - NSK - http://nsk.wikinerds.org

I published your project. It will show up on the translations page after the first translation got added. I recommend that you start with the general.pot file.
