It would be very helpful to have a test mode in Quickfile. I am experimenting with the system, right now on my PC. I want to be able to go through the whole buying process, except I want to skip payment processing, so I can make sure everything else works and understand how it operates.
I got side-tracked by the PayPal sandbox. It won't work with an ecommerce installation unless it has a domain name, which of course is not possible on my PC test system. Besides, getting the PayPal sandbox to work is a tangent - it has its own learning curve and takes time.
Two options for a Quickfile sandbox would be useful: one which assumes payment as soon as the buy button is clicked (for development systems) and another with a test button that only appears for a specified account or role. Or any other way that allows testing on a live system, but bypasses payment for authorized users.
Thanks,
Doug

alexis commentedThanks for the suggestion Doug, I'll see if I can find the time to add it in the next release.
The Paypal Sandbox requires some time getting used to but it's not that hard. Paypal offers a manual with every detail you may need to know about it.
As for the domain issue to test you are right, you need one domain if you are testing in a local environment with a dynamic IP. I solved that problem getting a free account at DynDNS.
