I have installed FileField Sources and added 'IMCE File Browser' as an enabled optional file source but when I try to use this for adding a file to a node, the 'file browser' link does not invoke IMCE. Is there some permission I need to set? Has anyone else experenced this problem?

We have that Problem on D6 also. Only User 1 can set IMCE as source.

had this issue with d6 as well, except that the "file browser" source link doesn't even appear.

however, after changing the IMCE Role-profile assignments for a given role to the default IMCE User-1 profile, users belonging to that role could use the IMCE source.

haven't played around with IMCE User-1 profile to see what field value(s) when changed prevent the IMCE source from being exposed. will get to it eventually when the profile needs to be restricted a bit, but if someone finds this first, please share.

see if anyone else can reproduce this odd behavior:

1. at admin/settings/imce, for a given role, assign the default IMCE User-1 profile. the role users should now have access to the IMCE source.
2. at admin/settings/imce, for that role in (1), assign the default profile. the role users should still have access to the IMCE source.

hi,
I am also not able to use the IMCE file browser. When I click on the browse button it opens an imce window but it does not show any images inside it. I also changed admin to use IMCE User-1 profile but to no avail.

Using D6 or D7?

How did you upload the files that you're looking for? Can you see any directories at all?

same here. no files or directories inside the imce directory. I cannot upload or use any of the other IMCE tools. I only see the insert file link. using D7

i got the directories to show by adjusting the public file system path. Still cannot upload from the browser. I would prefer this over the default uploader.

After checking on all the paths in the system, have you guys checked the permissions on the folders that you're trying to upload to? IMCE doesn't always make it clear but it does get picky about this. Try to 777 those folders where you're sending files to see if it allows anything to be uploaded. Then readjust for your security settings.

I cleared the cache and ran the cron.. it started working.. i can now see the IMCE file browser now.. thank you all..
