I love this module and the 'Spam' tag on user profiles to simply remove/unpublish/block/report in one click.

However as usernames are unique on a Drupal site it is unfortunate that a spammer choosing a nice username will lock that away from legitimate use forever. Eg. spammer registers with the name 'Rob' but is located and blocked. The name 'Rob' can never be used on the site again.

Previously to installing spambot I had a strategy of renaming spam accounts when manually blocking them. I changed their username to 'spammerYYYYMMDDHHMMSS' to that they did not stop legitimate users who might want to use that name.

It would be great if as part of the blocking process (on the profile 'Spam' tab) this option, or similar (perhaps using a configurable 'Rename spam accounts to...' option) could be added.

Hi,

Um, personally, I'm not particularly interested in adding this (because I don't see a need for it myself), but if other people want to devote some resources to have it done (either a patch or a feature sponsorship), then I'm open to the idea.
