Hello everybody,
I'm thinking about using the book module, including book navigation, to organize the 'static' part of the site,
creating a book for each language ( Dutch, English, German ), and include pages that we don't translate
in all books. Does that sound like a good idea ? Is it even possible ?
Now my biggest question ... The Drupal handbook's page about the collaborative books module talks about
an 'edit book outline' button that can be used to add existing nodes to a book. Where's this button ?
( I do have a 'create content - book page' and an 'administer - content - books' link in the
menu and I can create book pages, so the module is enabled. )

latest version
according to this cvs log message, the book outline feature had been removed temporarily. since 2004/10/08 11:17:59, it is back again, in a new tab instead of a button. download the latest rc again and it should work.
Thanks, the books module is w
Thanks, the books module is working now. The idea I had with it however is not going to work :-( The module will come in handy for the club newsletter though.
No "Edit Book Outline" button for me anywhere
I performed a fresh install two days ago. I am logged in as the first(administrator) account. I cannot see the "Edit Book Outline" tab for any nodes, nor can I see a "Parent" drop-down list such as seen when editing a book page, nor can I see a "Edit Book Outline" button at the bottom of any node page. I am able to get this working fine under 4.4.x, and it is only in 4.5.0 that I am having a problem. In 4.4.x, there's an "Edit Book Outline" button at the bottom of each page and it works fine. I can assign any node to any book page.
Even when I explicitly grant myself the permission to maintain books, I still cannot see any tab or button or drop-down list.
Anybody got clue for me? If it's not a permissions problem, what else could it be?

Outline tab displays for me on a different installation
So I just did a test install of Drupal at home on a Windows XP / Apache box and the "Outline" tab shows up. But on the Linux / Apache box installation the Outline tab is not showing up. I thuroughly reviewed the configuration of each installation and there are no differences I can spot.
I'm definitely scratching my head over this one. I guess I'll try to reinstall on the Linux box.

Reinstall resolved Outline tab issue
Not sure what happened. Reinstalling (re-uploading the core files, that is) resolved the issue. Outline tab shows up now. All is happy. =)
