Todeschini is the biggest furniture company in Latin American with more than 60 years of history, and its website has a fundamental role in the company’s marketing, specially in the relationship with clients and stores worldwide.

With more than 120.000 visits and 1.500.000 pages views monthly, the website is the first contact between Todeschini and thousands of clients, making it an important tool for searching Todeschini’s products and stores.

Thus, we had to create a website with an awesome visual that would not leave performance aside.

Although MMDA has been using Drupal since 2008, the previous website of Todeschini was using a CMS developed with ASP3.

So, to migrate the content to Drupal, we used Node Import module, which has a good configuration interface to import data and is able to import a lot of content ready to be put to production.

We chose version 6.20 for Todeschini’s website because it has many modules ready to be implemented and a lot of support from the community. Next, the list of modules used by area:

- Development area: Administration menu, Devel (to be more specific, we used Devel Generate to create markup content), Module filter, ModuleInfo, Taxonomy Manager, Poormanscron, LoginToboggan, Conditional Stylesheets.

- Website features: Blog, Comment, Views, CCK, Image Field, Imagecache, Imagecache Actions, Pathauto, NiceMenus, Node Block, Quick Tabs, Custom Search, NodeWords, Integrated Meta Tags, Views Accordion, Webform, Webform Block, jQuery Update, Sitemap, XML sitemap.

- Content management: Content management filter.

- Multilanguage: i18n, Content type translation, Menu translation, Block translation, String translation, taxonomy translation, Synchronize translations, CCK translation, Custom Search Internationalization, String Overrides, l10n_update.

The modules listed below were used to set some specific features in the website:

- 404 blocks
- Hierarchical Select
- Support
- HTML Mail
- Special menu items
- SOAP Client
- Drupal System Charting
- Language assignment

We also would like to highlight the usage of views to generate content to be retrieved via Ajax for the stores’ search, the development of customized modules for the Tracking Orders, and the dynamic creation of images and presets by the imagecache’s API.

Conclusion

The more we use Drupal, the more we like it. In the beginning, some features were hard to implement, but we were able to solve all problems with a little research (thanks to everyone in this community who shares knowledge) and by studying the behavior of some modules.

So far, the website is running really well and it is presenting satisfactory results, specially because Drupal makes it so easy to update content.

Love the site... great job with the drupal tweaks. All it takes is a little digging and learning the backend plugins and include files... nice!
